NTK chief warns Stalin of Jagan Reddy’s fate over naming schemes after father

Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) leader Seeman weighed in on the ongoing controversy regarding state welfare schemes named after late DMK leader M. Karunanidhi.
Seeman warned that following the transfer of power in Tamil Nadu to a ‘Tamizhan’ (a native Tamil person), the ruling party of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will face the same fate as Jaganmohan Reddy of Telangana.
Seeman’s comments came at a time when Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and AIADMK Edappadi K Palaniswami were engaged in a verbal spat over ‘Kalaignar’ schemes. According to Seeman, AIADMK would initiate a programme but then DMK would complete it and name it.
For Seeman, there was no problem in the Chief Minister naming any of the projects after his father, but it should be done on his own dime. “Keep your father’s name for every project. Except for toilets and bars, you have named everything. But do it using your money or your father’s money,” he said, adding, “Who are you to name these projects after your father using my father and mother’s money?”
Seeman then criticised the DMK for spending Rs 250 crore of public money on the Kalaignar Memorial in Chennai. “Whose Rs 250 crore was it that was used to build the Kalaignar Memorial? Did you name the project under Pandithurai or VO Chidambaranar who sold his property for the nation’s freedom?” Seeman asked.
He then warned the DMK to look at what was happening in neighbouring Bangladesh. “Remember what happened to the status of ‘Father of Bangladesh’ Mujibur Rahman,” the NTK chief said.
He accused the DMK of being drunk on power, and alerted to the fate of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy. “Jaganmohan Reddy was doing the same thing as he named everything after his father Rajesekhar Reddy. Chandrababu Naidu was not even in Andhra but in Delhi and even before he took oath, they demolished all of it,” Seeman stated.
